PreKure Health Coach graduate Anya Bell is doing some big things for the health of young Kiwis and their families.
How did you originally become interested in health and lifestyle medicine?
My family has always been interested in following a holistic lifestyle and an abundant vegetable garden has always been a part of our lives. As a professional cook and a mother, eating well and providing nutritious and tasty food is important to me, but nevertheless, I have been sucked into believing some of the food fads over my lifetime.
I am so glad that I have studied with Prekure and feel confident that I am making educated choices for myself, my family, and my customers. How has becoming a PreKure Certified Health Coach impacted your life?As a professional cook and nutrition advisor working in early childhood it is important to me to be providing our children with quality nutrition that supports their growth and development now, and in their future. The online modules offer the latest science in quite a different way to other nutrition papers that I have sat, giving me a deeper knowledge based on providing the how and why rather than just a set of food rules, that I can use to unravel the confusing messages in our media.
The coaching labs really took me out of my comfort zone but have given me such a valuable skill set that I can use in my daily personal and professional life.
I have been able to study at my own pace, with support readily available and plenty of extra resources to investigate. The coaching labs really took me out of my comfort zone but have given me such a valuable skill set that I can, and have used, in my daily personal and professional life. I have connected with such a variety of supportive people, each committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our communities, and committed to supporting each other to be able to do this.
My goal is to share with families that it is possible to enjoy peaceful and harmonious meals with their children and that it is possible to support children to develop a love for healthy foods.
Would you like to share any client success stories or a big ‘aha’ moment in your coaching career?
My goal is to share with families that it is possible to enjoy peaceful and harmonious meals with their children and that it is possible to support children to develop a love for healthy foods. Having changed my diet and that of my family for the better, we all feel so much better, have more vitality, and enjoy better health all round.
With PreKure I have the support to share my family’s journey with others and help them reconnect with the food they are eating and to make conscious food and lifestyle decisions.
What advice do you have for others thinking about starting their study journey with PreKure?
PreKure has really thought through the whole process from knowledge to application and continues to provide the training and support to help me plan the next steps to achieving my goals. Wherever you are on your journey to health and wellbeing, they are there to help you keep moving forward.
