From breakfast radio announcer to Health Coach – Kent’s own lifestyle changes sparked his interest in health and helping other people see their way out of the maze they’ve been in.

How did you originally become interested in health and lifestyle medicine?

I started to get interested in health and lifestyle choices at the end of 2017. I was exhausted from working as a breakfast radio announcer and trying to be a good dad to my 1-year-old daughter. I went to dietician Caryn Zinn seeking ways to find more energy. Caryn told me to try the LCHF lifestyle and I absolutely loved it. I was thriving, and my interest in good health grew rapidly from there.

Becoming a Health Coach is the best thing I have done for myself personally for a very long time.

How has becoming a PreKure Certified Health Coach impacted your life?

Becoming a Health Coach is the best thing I have done for myself personally for a very long time. Being able to share knowledge and ideas with others is so rewarding. I feel like I am jumping out of my skin to help get the message out there about what good health can look like. And we can all do it with a smile on our faces!

Would you like to share any client success stories or a big ‘aha’ moment in your coaching career?

My biggest pleasure in coaching so far is seeing ‘the penny drop’ for clients. When they start talking about the enjoyment they are having (particularly from diet change) it is obvious they understand these changes are totally sustainable and they can see a way out of the maze they have been in. I even have clients who are now passing on what they have learned about good nutrition to their own friends. It’s ‘the snowball effect’ and it’s only going to get bigger.

The papers and coaching labs are so enjoyable, and there is a massive support network in the form of your peers, as well as the PreKure team.

What advice do you have for others thinking about starting their study journey with PreKure?

My advice would be to talk to Paula Ross (PreKure’s Customer Care Advisor) about the different options and figure out what is best for you. From there, throw yourself into it and don’t be scared about being out of your comfort zone. The papers and coaching labs are so enjoyable, and just know there is a massive support network in the form of your peers, as well as the PreKure team. Being able to apply the theory learned in the papers to the coaching labs totally makes the course a winner.
