The Mental Health Coach focuses on the present and the future and supports the client or patient to take action and work towards a higher level of functioning.
Please note, that to become a PREKURE Certified Mental Health Coach, you need to complete Health Coaching Training along with the Advanced Certificate of Mental Health.
If I do this Advanced Certificate, will I be at the same level as a Registered Psychologist?
Absolutely not. Training to be a clinical and/or Registered Psychologist takes 7 years. They are registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board and have a current Annual Practising Certificate.

HIPs are currently funded and employed in the primary healthcare sector in New Zealand. To become a health improvement practitioner, you’ll have a degree in public health, a related subject or equivalent health improvement knowledge from training, extended courses and experience.
