The Advanced Certificate in Nutrition includes 10x live nutrition labs facilitated by Professor Grant Schofield along with a team of nutrition specialists who are experts in their fields. When does the Certificate start and finish?

The six theory courses (PK201-PK206) can be started immediately after you enrol and are available for you to complete in your own time and at your own pace with online, 24/7 access.

We have intakes during the year for the 10 x live online nutrition labs. You can view our live lab start dates and schedules here.

How long will it take to complete this Certificate?

There are 6 x online self-paced knowledge-based courses that make up the Certificate. There are also 10 x two-hour live online and interactive nutrition labs with nutrition experts, facilitated by Professor Grant Schofield.

You can complete you Advanced Certificate in 4.5 months with a weekly time commitment of approximately 5-7 hours per week. However you have up to 12 months to complete your training if you need extra time.

Can I go at my own pace?

Yes. You can do the six theory courses in your own time and at your own pace, with online 24/7 access.

For the 10 x two-hour live online and interactive nutrition labs these are usually scheduled on weekday evenings.  You can view our live lab schedules here.

Do I have to be a medical professional to do this Advanced Certificate?

No. Anyone can enrol in this Certificate. However, you must complete and pass PK102: Nutrition as Medicine before starting.

Who should do this course?

This course is ideal for health coaches, medical doctors, nurses, dietitians, nutritionists, and allied health professionals. However, it’s also perfect if you want to upskill in nutrition for your own or your family’s benefit. Do be aware that this is an advanced course and that PK102: Nutrition as Medicine is required as a course prerequisite.

What prerequisites apply?

Prior to undertaking the Advanced Certificate in Nutrition you are required to complete and pass PK102: Nutrition as Medicine before starting.

I am a nurse, physio or pharmacist. Does this course count towards my CPD credits?

Yes. Each Short Course counts as 15 hours.

Is this a CME-endorsed course by The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGPs)?

Yes. Our courses have been endorsed by The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP) and have been approved for CME credits for the General Practice Educational Programme (GPEP) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) purposes.

Has this Certificate been assessed by NZQA for micro-credentialing?

Yes. The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) ensures that New Zealand qualifications are valued as credible and robust, both nationally and internationally.

The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) has evaluated the Advanced Certificate in Nutrition (Micro-credential) delivered by PREKURE and has assessed it to be Level 6 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF).

The Australian Qualifications Framework has equivalency with the NZQA e.g. Level 6 microcredential with NZQA is the
same as Level 6 on AQF.

Can I cross credit other courses I've already studied with PREKURE?

Yes, if you’ve already completed any PK200 Short Courses then these can be credited towards your Advanced Certificate. Please email us at [email protected] and we will send you a special link that takes into account the courses you have already completed.

How do I know the courses are credible and contain correct information?

PREKURE courses are scientifically based and evidence-informed, with full academic references provided for all materials. This Certificate is taught by registered dietitian Dr Caryn Zinn, Professor of Public Health Grant Schofield, and practising GP and fellow of the RNZCGPs, Dr Glen Davies. Do I get lifetime course access?

No. All PREKURE course content is available for 12 months from the date you enrol.

However graduates can retain access to their course content by joining the PREKURE Postgrad Network, an exclusive membership offering postgraduate professional support to PREKURE graduates. This includes access to updated content, resources and references as we continue to develop and re-release courses.

If you are dissatisfied for any reason with your purchase, contact us within 30 days and we will give you a full refund, no questions asked.

What Certification will I receive?

If you pass your assessment criteria you will graduate with an Advanced Certificate in Nutrition.

If you also undertake Health Coaching Training in combination with the Advanced Certificate in Nutrition you will become a PREKURE Certified Health & Nutrition Coach.

To maintain your active PREKURE Certified Health & Nutrition Coach status you must meet the industry body standards of 10 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) per annum. You can learn more about the annual CPD process here.


What support will I receive after graduating?

After graduation you are invited to join the PREKURE Postgrad Network, an exclusive membership offering postgraduate professional support to PREKURE graduates.

PREKURE Network Membership is an optional resource for you to continue learning & developing, and provides all the ongoing support, resources and tools you need to thrive in your health and/or coaching career.

Is it too late to enrol?

No! You can enrol and start learning at any time during the year. 

For your six theory based courses you can start learning straight away, with online 24/7 access.

For your live nutrition labs these are scheduled at different times during the year.  You can view our start dates and schedules here.

What payment options are there?

You can either pay upfront in 1 payment, or take advantage of our 6 and 12 month payment plans.

6 month payment plan: Pay an additional 5% and split your payment into 6 monthly payments.

12 month payment plan: Pay an additional 10% and split your payment into 12 monthly payments.

Please note, that if you are on a payment plan you must have paid in full to be eligible to graduate.
