How long does it take to complete the Certificate in Health Science?
You have 12 months to complete the Certificate but could realistically complete it on a part-time basis over six months. Each course usually takes approximately 15 hours of study plus an additional 15 hours of recommended reading and reflective practice. You have 12 months in which to complete the six courses.
Can I go at my own pace?
Yes. You can do the Certificate in your own time and at your own pace, with online 24/7 access. You have 12 months to complete the six courses that make up the Certificate.
Can I do the Certificate in Health Science to begin with, then upgrade to the Health Coach Certificate later?
Yes, you can start your training with the Certificate in Health Science, and if you choose to, upgrade to the Health Coach Certificate at a later date.
What's the difference between this Certificate and the Health Coach Training/Certificate?
The Certificate in Health Science as outlined on this page is designed for people who want to upskill their personal knowledge in lifestyle medicine, or health professionals who want to learn the latest science and practice in health. It is made up of six online theory based courses.
The Health Coach Certificate is designed for people who want to work as a Health Coach either in a primary care (like a GP clinic) or in their own business. The Health Coach Certificate is made up of this Certificate in Health Science plus the Certificate in Coaching Practice – 40 hours of live coaching labs.

Has this Certificate been assessed by NZQA for micro-credentialing?
Yes. The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) ensures that New Zealand qualifications are valued as credible and robust, both nationally and internationally.
The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) has evaluated the Health Coach Certificate (Micro-credential) delivered by PREKURE which includes 6x online theory Courses as seen in the Certificate in Health Science. This has assessed it to be equivalent to 30 credits (300 notional learning hours) at Level 5 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF).
The Australian Qualifications Framework has equivalency with the NZQA e.g. Level 5 microcredential with NZQA is the
same as Level 5 on AQF.
Do I need any background or previous learning in the health field?
No. There is no prior learning required for entry into this Certificate.
Is this Certificate recognised for Registered Exercise Professionals (REPs)?
Yes, it is in New Zealand.

Do I get lifetime access ?
No. All PREKURE course content is available for 12 months from the date you enrol.
However graduates can retain access to their course content by joining the PREKURE Postgrad Network, an exclusive membership offering postgraduate professional support to PREKURE graduates. This includes access to updated content, resources and references as we continue to develop and re-release courses.
What payment options are there?
You can either pay upfront in 1 payment, or take advantage of our 6 and 12 month payment plans.
6 month payment plan: Pay an additional 5% and split your payment into 6 monthly payments.
12 month payment plan: Pay an additional 10% and split your payment into 12 monthly payments.
Please note, that if you are on a payment plan you must have paid in full to be eligible to graduate.
