Join Prof Grant Schofield as he explores the latest in sleep research and uncovers the why, the how and the what of sleep. Why is it important? How does sleep get disturbed and how are poor sleep and poor mental health connected? What should we do to improve our sleep?
Module 4: Breathing For Mental Health
In this module, you will learn about breathing and how it can be used to calm the nervous system and combat low mental health. Learn how to switch off the sympathetic nervous system and switch on the parasympathetic nervous system. And discover different breathing practices, the power of mindfulness and meditation and how they can be used to enhance mental health.
Module 5: Thermo-Therapies For Mental Health
In this module, you will learn about thermo therapies. Explore how temperature extremes can be used to improve your physical and mental health. Become familiar with emerging research in this area and understand the impact that temperature has on systemic inflammation and overall wellbeing.
