Module 1: Nutrition For Mental Health

In this module, you’ll learn about the importance of diet quality to maintain and enhance mental health and mood. Module 2: Physical Activity, Exercise And Fitness For Mental Health

In this module, you will learn how physical activity, exercise and fitness improve brain health and mental wellbeing. Join Professor Grant Schofield as he explores how exercise improves mood and cognition and takes a closer look at the impact that time in nature, or nature therapy, has on mental health. By the end of this module, you will understand the importance of exercise and will be armed with a model for prescribing or guiding clients through engaging in physical activity.

Module 3: Sleep For Mental Health

In this module, you will learn about the importance of sleep and form an understanding of what happens when we don’t get enough of it. Join Prof Grant Schofield as he explores the latest in sleep research and uncovers the why, the how and the what of sleep. Why is it important? How does sleep get disturbed and how are poor sleep and poor mental health connected? What should we do to improve our sleep?

Module 4: Breathing For Mental Health

In this module, you will learn about breathing and how it can be used to calm the nervous system and combat low mental health. Learn how to switch off the sympathetic nervous system and switch on the parasympathetic nervous system. And discover different breathing practices, the power of mindfulness and meditation and how they can be used to enhance mental health.

Module 5: Thermo-Therapies For Mental Health

In this module, you will learn about thermo therapies. Explore how temperature extremes can be used to improve your physical and mental health. Become familiar with emerging research in this area and understand the impact that temperature has on systemic inflammation and overall wellbeing. Join Prof Grant Schofield as he explores the potential of saunas, hot baths, and cold water immersion as tools to improve mental health.
