Module 1: The Biology And Psychology Of Psychological Injury

In this module, you will learn about psychological trauma. Join Josh Darby as he explores the definition of trauma; how it differs from stress, anxiety and depression; and how exposure to potentially traumatic events affects people variably.

Module 2: Psychological First Aid For Psychological Injury (MANERS model)

In this module, you will learn about psychological first aid and trauma-informed care. Join Josh Darby as he walks you through a practical tool for psychological first aid – the MANERS model. By the end of this module, you will be able to define what this model is and understand how you can use it in practice with clients. You will also be equipped with knowledge about the trauma-informed care approach.

Module 3: Understanding PTSD

In this module, you will learn about post-traumatic stress disorder and acute stress disorder. Josh Darby explains the definitions, the criteria for diagnosis and the manifestation of these disorders. This module will equip you with an understanding of the hallmark features of these psychological injuries, and how you could best support clients who are experiencing them.

Module 4: Post Traumatic Growth

This module will empower you with tools to enhance your personal awareness. You will learn about how stressors in life, both physical and psychological, when appropriate, can equip us with the ability to cope better in future similar situations. You’ll also explore the importance of critical thinking for coaches,  and understand contemplation and non-dualistic thinking.

When does the course start and finish?

This course is available for you to start immediately as soon as you enrol with online, 24/7 access. You then have 12 months to complete your short course.

Can I go at my own pace?

Yes. You can do this course in your own time and at your own pace, with online 24/7 access. The course can easily be completed within four weeks by committing to approximately five hours of work per week. You do however have up to 12 months to complete your course.

Do I receive any certification for completing the course?

You will receive a PREKURE Certificate of Completion for this course.

What happens after I finish the course?
