FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is PREKURE?
PREKURE is a social enterprise dedicated to the World Health Organisation’s definition of human health: “a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” See About Us for more information.
What impact do you make?
We are extremely proud that our sole purpose is to change people’s lives for the better. See our latest Social Impact Report.
What is lifestyle medicine?
In scientific terms, lifestyle medicine is a blend of complex physiology and behavioural sciences that prevents preventable diseases and treats modifiable illnesses. We define lifestyle medicine as a personalised prescription of behavioural sciences and psychology, nutrition, sleep, and movement.
I'm a General Practitioner. Why should I join PREKURE?
By joining PREKURE, you can create the changes in medicine that you want to see:
1. Join the movement that tackles the root cause of disease, not just the symptoms.
2. Discover the evidence base for preventive medicine.
3. Change your practice and challenge the mentality that surrounds long-term conditions.
Is PREKURE recognised internationally?
How do I know the study is credible?
PREKURE’s certificates have been assessed to be equivalent to university-level study. All our courses are scientifically-based and evidence-informed with full academic references provided for all materials. They are taught by our highly qualified, world-leading teaching Faculty with extensive real-world experience including registered dietitian Dr Caryn Zinn, Professor of Public Health Grant Schofield and practising GP and fellow of the RNZCGPs, Dr Glen Davies.
