Q&A: Meet Robyn Cruickshank

What were you doing before you became a Health Coach?

I spent over two decades in the healthcare industry, where I worked in Primary Care as a Practice Manager and Nurse for 20 years. Four years ago I transitioned into my own administration business, while studying an advanced certificate in teaching and guiding meditation.

What motivated you to become a Health Coach?

With high stress levels in my job, my life and career took a transformative turn when I also faced my own health battles, which sparked my passion for holistic health and wellness. After my mother’s premature death from breast cancer and then my own breast cancer battles, followed closely by my daughter’s breast cancer diagnosis, I knew there must be more to health than what we were being told by the medical profession.

I had become frustrated with the conventional medical approach and I knew if I followed my instincts I could change my story. So I embarked on a journey of wellness where I needed to rethink what I knew and learn another path. This led me to PREKURE, where I found the tools and knowledge to rewrite my story and empower others to do the same. Now my passion is to support other women so they do not have to go through what I went through and understand that a healthy life is possible.

What are you doing since graduating as a Health Coach?

I have dedicated myself to my health coaching business, Rebalanceher Health Coaching where I work part-time with clients one-on-one. I am also in the process of designing workplace wellbeing programs to deliver to corporate medical clinics and disability support companies throughout Australia.

Is there a particular aspect of health coaching that you are especially passionate about?

My true passion lies in empowering women to navigate the challenges of menopause and their relationship with alcohol, guiding them toward holistic lifestyle changes. I am also deeply committed to supporting women in the workplace, ensuring they can thrive well into their sixties without being hindered by debilitating menopause symptoms.

Could you share a specific success story where your coaching has made a significant positive impact on a client/patient’s life?

One of my most recent and inspiring success stories is a client who experienced significant tangible improvements in her health, after just a few coaching sessions. We focused on mindset, building resilience, movement and the future. As a result, her body changed shape, she is sleeping better and her stress dropped from a level 9 to a level 5. Her journey really exemplifies the transformative power of health coaching.

As a health coach, what challenges have you faced?

As with any journey, I encountered challenges along the way, including balancing my business with other responsibilities. However, my passion for developing my own health coaching business and empowering others with the unwavering support of the PREKURE community has really fueled my perseverance and success.

How has the PREKURE training enriched your professional and personal life?

I had my advanced certificate in meditation teaching but I always felt I needed more knowledge to fully support women. The PREKURE training was comprehensive, with the latest evidence-based science and it equipped me with valuable health coaching skills, such as active listening and the ability to guide clients in discovering their own solutions. It has given me the added confidence to share my knowledge and prepared me for real-world scenarios to effectively support my clients on their journey to wellness. Personally, it has been an amazing journey of growth and self-discovery.
